BCCI Breaks Silence On Team India's Asian Games Accommodation Controversy

The Indian cricketers competing at the upcoming Asian Games in Japan will stay at the designated accommodation arranged by the Organising Committee though they are not the five-star hotels they usually get on foreign tours, BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla said on Tuesday. Shukla said the issue on the accommodation of the hotels for the cricketers had arisen due to the scarcity of top-rated hotels in Nagoya. He, however, said accommodation of the cricketers was not a big issue and the BCCI and the players are satisfied with the arrangement. "Whatever they (organisers) are providing, we are staying there and we are keeping a watch what kind of accommodation is being given so that our players are comfortable. Definitely those are not of five-star but a good accommodation," Shukla said at the send-off ceremony of the Indian contingent . "Whatever has been offered to our cricketers that accommodation we have got the photographs all the way and the videos also of that, s...

Netflix Users In UK Could Face Rs 1 Lakh Fine For Watching Brand New Show

Previously, Netflix users in the UK could stream content without worrying about a TV licence. However, new rules now put some viewers at risk of hefty fines-especially when tuning into certain live shows. While bingeing true crime documentaries or animated favourites still falls under a standard subscription, Netflix's newest addition- Everybody's Live with John Mulaney- is a live broadcast, which means you'll need a valid TV licence to watch it legally, the Metro reported.  Set to premiere on Thursday, the show marks Netflix's first-ever live late-night talk show and joins the platform's growing lineup of live content. Recent live events include the much-hyped Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson boxing match and WWE programming, part of Netflix's new sports and entertainment strategy following recent rights acquisitions. However, unlike on-demand shows such as Love Is Blind or Harlan Coben thrillers, watching live-streamed content in the UK requires a valid TV licence-...

Edelweiss' Radhika Gupta's Solution To India's Obesity Problem Is Viral

Radhika Gupta, CEO of Edelweiss Mutual Funds, weighed in on India's rising obesity crisis with a simple yet impactful restaurant-based idea aimed at tackling both overeating and food wastage- while potentially increasing restaurant profits. Applauding the growing focus on obesity, Ms Gupta described the conversation as "critical." In a social media post, she wrote, "I'm glad we're talking openly about obesity-it's an important issue." Her recommendation to eateries: offer half-plate portions across all menu items. "Many of us eat small portions but end up finishing everything on the plate because, culturally, we don't like wasting food. When dining alone, sharing isn't always possible. Restaurants could price half-plates just above 50% of the full portion if that helps with margins. This would give diners a way to eat less- without wasting food or money," she suggested. I am glad we are talking about obesity as a problem so wide...

The dismissal of Washington Sundar sparked a massive controversy during the IPL 2025 match between Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday. Washington looked in brilliant form as he dominated the SRH bowlers but he was ultimately dismissed for 49 by Mohammed Shami. During the 14th over of the GT innings, Washington slammed a short of length ball from Shami towards sweeper cover and Aniket Verma ended up taking a brilliant catch. However, the umpires were not convinced whether he cleanly collected it or not. They decided to go for a review and although some replays suggested that the ball may have touched the ground, the third umpire ruled against the batter. The dismissal led to a massive discussion on social media with several users criticising the decision. A sundar inning was being played by Washi Sundar. But was that really out? #SRHvGT — Aadarsh (@Aadarsh1830) April 6, 2025 Skipper Shubman Gill led by example with a classy half-century after Mohammed Siraj bowled w...
